\thə\·\ā-nə\

Pronounced: AH-NUH

(noun)

1. a collection of miscellaneous information about a particular subject, person, place, or thing.

2. The Ana is a quarterly arts magazine. We are a collection and celebration of humanity.

Our History

The Ana was founded in February 2020. Our mission is to be A PLACE WHERE people can express their full, nuanced selves.

THE CAMP NEXT TO THE CONTROLLED. TRIALS NEXT TO TRIUMP. Expectations be damned. Yet, despite this, we have ground rules. Nuance does not mean we tolerate hate speech.

(See the Paradox of Tolerance for all our philosophy babes.)

Ethics

A magazine with ethics?

Imagine.

We seek to be a collective, supporting folks who come across our magazine, whether they are contributors or readers.

We accept all art & people, except those who promote hate.

We will not engage with work that disparages a community based on:

GENDER · SEXUALITY · RACE · ETHNICITY · RELIGION (OR LACK THEREOF) · IMMIGRATION STAUS · ABILITY · DISABILITY · HEALTH STATUS · CREED · ECONOMIC SITUATION

If you do not support this, that's okay. We know Reddit or the New York Times would love your work.

Founded & run by QBIPOC.

All are welcome. Hate speech not tolerated.

(We mean it.)
